Ships, Sea and Sunshine

I am currently writing this blog sitting in a beautiful space onboard Saga Ocean Cruises ‘Spirit of Discovery’. YES.. I am back as a Guest Entertainer onboard a cruise ship.
Obviously we are following strict Covid-19 protocols in line with the UK Government’s requirements but it has not diluted the joy of being back at sea.
I have detailed all those on a video available to watch, if you are so inclined, on my Comedian William Caulfield Facebook page.

We set sail last Sunday from Tilbury in England and called at Portsmouth, Portland, Isles of Scilly, Falmouth and today a costal cruise back to arrive in Tilbury again tomorrow morning where I disembark.

It has been 15 months since I last performed on a theatre stage with a live audience so it was so good to being allowed to do what I do again after such a long ‘pause’. To look out and see and hear an audience was just great.

We were blessed with good weather, lovely sunshine and calm seas throughout the cruise, so all in all it was just wonderful to be on one of only two ships that are back cruising at the present in compliance with the UK restrictions and therefore one of the first entertainers back at work. I had the pleasure of the company of Peter Howarth (lead singer with the Hollies) as my fellow guest entertainer. We chatted and laughed for a week. I have included his picture.

So a big thanks to our agent Berys Said at Liberty Entertainment, to all at Live Business and of course Saga for having us. The ship is absolutely stunning, the food is exquisite and the crew are outstanding. I’m so looking forward to returning to their sister ship next month. It’s good to be back.
